Study Areas at TU Dortmund University

TU Dortmund University offers numerous individual and group workstations at various locations that students can use to study for exams, write assignments, or prepare presentations.

North Campus and Technology Park:

The Emil Figge Library at Emil-Figge-Straße 50 offers 287 study places and is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m.

The Sebrath Library at Sebrathweg 7 has 240 study workstations available. It is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

In addition to the study workstations in the faculties and departmental libraries, there are also places available in the seminar room building (500 places) and in the co-learning spaces on Campus North (310 places). Study groups can also use 30 study workstations in the International Meeting Center (IBZ).

South Campus

The Campus South Library, with 65 study workstations, is located in the Geschossbau I building at August-Schmidt-Straße 6 on the Campus South. It is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.

An additional 65 workstations are available in the co-learning spaces.

City

In Dortmund city center, the City Lernort (Westenhellweg 127) offers 160 study workstations for students at TU Dortmund University as well as for students enrolled at Ruhr University Bochum, the University of Duisburg-Essen, or Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts.

Workstations available during the evening

During the transition period, there are also learning workstations that can be used during the evening hours. The Sebrath Library (240 workstations) is currently open until 8 p.m. each day. Students can also use the co-learning space at the South Campus (65 workstations) until 8 p.m. Mondays through Fridays. On average, about 100 students use the UB's locations late at night to study. On Mondays through Sundays, students can study in the Emil Figge Library (287 workstations) until 10 p.m. The City Learning Space (160 workstations) is open until 10 p.m. all week. In the co-learning space on the North Campus, 310 workstations are available until 1 a.m. every day. During the evening and night hours, students can ask the security guards to accompany them to the S-Bahn stop or to the parking lot.
